This page explains how to (a) permanently delete your Soria Voice Note account and all associated data, or (b) selectively delete specific data without removing your account. We honor every deletion request in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA).

A. Delete specific data only (keep my account)

You can delete individual recordings, folders, transcripts, chat history, and other content while keeping your account active.

Option A1 — Delete inside the app

Single recording / document: open the item → tap the menu (⋯) → Move to Trash. To purge permanently: Settings → Trash → Delete.
All recordings, folders, and content (account stays): Settings → Reset All App Data. This deletes every folder, document, transcript, attachment, chat history, and local cache. Your account profile and login remain.
Preferences only (language, writing style, rewrite level): Settings → Reset Preferences. No content is touched.

Option A2 — Email request

Email contact@sorialabs.no from your registered address with the subject “Selective Data Deletion Request”. Specify which data category to remove (e.g. “all my recordings before 2025-01-01”, “all chat history”, “speaker directory entries”). We process within 7 business days.

B. Delete the entire account

Option B1 — Delete from inside the app

Open the Soria Voice Note app on your device.
Go to Settings → Account.
Tap Delete Account.
Confirm the action.

Your account and all associated data are removed immediately upon confirmation.

Option B2 — Request deletion by email

If you no longer have access to the app, send a deletion request from the email address registered on your account to:

Please include the following in your message:

The email address used to sign in to Soria.
The subject line: “Account Deletion Request”.
(Optional) A brief reason — helps us improve.

We will process your request and confirm completion within 7 business days.

What data is deleted (full account deletion)

Upon deletion, the following data is permanently removed from our production systems:

Account profile (email, display name, avatar)
Voice recordings and uploaded audio files
Transcriptions, AI summaries, and generated documents
Folders, tags, and chat history
Speaker directory entries you created
Subscription records (where legally permitted)
Device sessions and authentication tokens

What data is retained

For legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention reasons, we may retain a minimal set of records for a limited period:

Billing & tax records — retained for up to 5 years as required by tax authorities.
Anonymized usage logs — retained for up to 90 days for service-quality analysis. These logs contain no personally identifiable information after the deletion.
Backup snapshots — encrypted backups expire and are purged within 30 days.

Active subscription

If you have an active paid subscription, deletion will cancel auto- renewal. You retain access until the end of the current billing period unless you also request a refund.
